Content Strategist (Remote)



The Content Strategist produces the fuel that drives the inbound engine. He or she must be a great writer who doubles as an expert on the machinery of search, demand creation, and social media. Someone who emerges from various corners of the current marketing and media workforces. Aside from that, the Content Strategist must have excellent communication skills and be skilled at using various CMS and data analytics software and/or applications. The Content Strategist have an eye for detail, and have enthusiasm for pitching strategies and reporting content performance.


  • Oversee content requirements and translate to content direction

  • Create content strategy deliverables across a project life cycle

  • Conduct content audits on websites and social media accounts

  • Maintain metadata frameworks and content migration plans

  • Analyze quality, traffic figures, web statistics, and channel insights

  • Supporting the Content Manager in developing a content plan

  • Perform Research and Data Analysis - The Content Strategist should expertly perform market research and constantly analyze content in order to optimize. The Content Strategist is in charge of tracking the best and worst performing content, as well as tracking conversion and flagging trends. He/she should also be continuously sharing their findings and communicating metrics to the team.

  • Develop the Content Strategy - The Content Strategist will serve as the architect of the strategy. The Content Strategist needs to be well rounded with a creative and strategic mindset, people skills, and writing chops. It's also important to make sure this individual understands the workings of the product and brand, so the content is relevant and targeted.

  • Publish and Distribute Niche Content - The Content Strategist is in charge of publishing niche content such as blog posts for the brand websites, and takes care of the optimization strategy for search engine analytics and ranking.

  • Content Curation - As the team’s curator, the Content Strategist should be able to supplement new, original content by finding and re-purposing the best content from the business and from around the web. The Content Strategist must be able to scale the business content assets for future use.

  • Maintain Content Calendars – The Content Strategist should work with the Content Manager and Editor to manage calendars and keep track of content schedules to ensure the production of a regular amount of content at the right times throughout the year. He/she should also ensure that content is delivered strategically around key search terms for higher traffic and online visibility.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Marketing, Communications or similar relevant field
  • Two years of Content Strategy experience at a Creative/Marketing Agency or Publishing Company is a plus

  • Excellent writing skills for various formats
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strategy pitching and data reporting
  • Basic knowledge of SEO and content strategy
  • Ability to work proactively while maintaining close attention to detail
  • Effective time management with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Windows Operating System 8 or higher
  • Wired DSL Internet connection with minimum 5MBPS
  • Back up for power outages and internet interruptions


  • 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST/DST | Monday to Friday
